Hotel Adam´s History

The hotel was reconstructed from houses No. 10 and 11 in Havlíčkova Str. in Trutnov. Both houses are registred in the list of immovable cultural monuments. The house No. 10 (restaurant entrance) in the late- Baroque style comes from the 2nd half of 18th century and was adapted in 1861.

The late- Renaissance house No. 11 (hotel entrance) from 17th century was rebuilt at the end of 18th century. Till 20th century it had only one floor. At the end of 19th century it belonget to the most inhabited houses in the town. In 1882 there lived 109 persons, in each room 18-20 people, here.

Since the eighties the two buildings had been unsuccessfully reconstructed for about 15 years in such a way that even some structures collapsed. Thanks to it another floor to the house No. 11 was built. One can say that the two buildings had been a big shame of the town Trutnov for a long time.

In 1993 the above named estates were bought in an auction by the company CMS. The company started immediately with statical securing of both buildings, in November 1993 it obtained the building permission to rebuilt them to be a hotel and in August 1994 it was approved. In September the trial operation began and on 3rd December 1994 the hotel Adam was officially opened.
